Educating for the greater good
Many students come to USF because we are one of the nation’s premier Jesuit universities. Others come here not knowing much at all about the Jesuit tradition.
USF welcomes students of all faiths, believers and non-believers alike; but Jesuit values are central to academic life at USF, and have been since our founding in 1855.
USF’s commitment to the Jesuit Catholic tradition runs through every major in every program. This is why USF introduced an undergraduate service-learning semester; ranks nationally among the top 30 schools for cultural diversity; maintains a Jesuit Foundation to give annual grants for worthy school projects; empowers the Green Team to make the campus more energy-efficient and eco-friendly; and has a community of alumni engaged in work and research of global significance.
